Former winners: Zerstoerer, Jerry, n.n., Skully, F. Porsche, Jaeger, Marodeur, Maxel.

  6. Note: please do not understand 'Panzer Puzzle' literally. It just sounds nice, and actually, in German every tank of every nation is called 'Panzer'. Basically any armored fulltrack vehicle can be subject of this puzzle.

And the winner is ... Gerd, the Portal chief historian (correct guess already after the 1st update)!
It is in fact a Semovente (da) 75/18, an Italian assault gun inspired by the German StuG III.
'Semovente' just means 'self-propelled', '75' is the calibre in mm, and '18' the calibre length,
i.e. the gun is 18 * 75mm 'long' (even shorter than the German 75/L23 on the early StuG and Pz. IV).

You can find the orginal image in its context here and many other Italian AFVs at this great Italian site
(look for 'equipaggiamenti' and click the appropriate pics).

Put the mouse cursor on the image to view the entire semovente.
